Coach Michele

I founded Coach Michele Swim School with a simple concept in mind: giving my students the best, most rewarding learning experience that will make them fall in love with swimming and add joy to their lives. Coach Michele Swim School is located at my home in Plano, TX.

I joined my first swim team at the age of six and went on to swim competitively in college. I became a lifeguard at age 15 and a certified water safety instructor at the age of 16. That’s when my love for teaching children and adults how to swim started. I continued to teach and eventually became head coach of the undefeated swim team I grew up on until I graduated from college. 

When I graduated from college I continued to moonlight from time to time in the evenings as a swim instructor.  In my professional career I became a trainer and eventually the manager of trainers at a large pharmaceutical company. They enrolled me in several behavior science courses that taught me proven methods that help people learn faster. I now use those methods when teaching swim lessons with phenomenal results.

When the pandemic started, my neighbors started talking about how all of the pools were closed and they were having a hard time finding swim lessons for their children. I started teaching again just for my friends. They were really happy with the results and they told their friends about me … and next thing I knew, by 2021 I had a full Swim School running. During this process I discovered how energized I was before, during and after lessons, so I decided to make this my full-time gig. I love it!
